Teaching Tip: This lesson would go well when learning the story of Noah. It would also work well anytime we are learning about God's promises. Below is a lit of God's promises that he has already fulfilled

Promises God had Already Fulfilled

God's promises to Abraham to make him into a great nation in Genesis 12:2-3. This is fulfilled throughout the Bible. Read Matthew 1:1-17 to read the genealogy from Abraham to Jesus.

God's promise to Noah in Genesis chapter 9 is fulfilled throughout history. God promises to never flood to destroy all life.

God made a promise to Joseph in his dreams in Genesis 37: 1-11. This was fulfilled in Genesis 42-44.

God's promise to Hannah that she will have a baby in 1 Samuel 1:17 is fulfilled in 1 Samuel 1:20.

God's promise to Samson is fulfilled in .

God's promise to send a Redeemer in 2 Samuel 7:8-16, Isaiah 9:6-7, and Isaiah 11:1-15. This is fulfilled in the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

God's Promises for the Future

Praise be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil, or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you. -1 Peter 1:3-4

He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with Him. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:10-11

I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no. one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. -John 10:28-29

Teaching Tip: For preschool and elementary children, you can incorporate some of God's character traits. You can read Bible verses to them, or perhaps, your children could memorize one.

Bible Verses about God's Character

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever. -Hebrews 13:8

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. -John 14:6

God is not a man, that He should lie; neither a human being, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill? I have received a command to class; He has blessed and I cannot change it. -Numbers 23:19-20.

Encouragement: Somedays are hard for parents, primary caregivers and children. Sometimes our children just need a little fun and encouragement for a hard day. We used this for craft as a fun way to remind them that God keeps His promises even when days are difficult. You are doing what you were made to do every time you comfort your little one and take time to get yourself in a healthy state.
